Full time Senior Developer (PHP, Drupal, Symfony)

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

BrightLemon are looking to expand their team of creative and dynamic web developers.

If you have outstanding experience in working with Drupal or PHP or Symfony for a growing organisation, a genuine passion for all things web-based and an interest in collaborating with some of the biggest brands in the world (Vodafone, Pearson, HMRC), then this could be the role for you.


Role requirements:

  • Working closely with the Project Manager to quote for proposals, project specs and time estimations  

  • Portraying a positive, proactive and professional image of the company both to clients and colleagues

  • Turning requirements, design and user interface mockups into functional module features

  • Analysing a client's' needs and develop the appropriate functionality, while not overbuilding

  • Recommending solutions, built or purchased, to meet business needs

  • Writing clean, efficient and readable code, within a team or independently, to create content-rich sites that are easy to maintain

  • Custom module development

  • Doing custom jQuery and PHP programming;

  • Working with databases, interacting with MySQL;

  • Working with Git version control;

  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing client sites

  • Mentoring and coaching of more junior and mid level members of the team

  • Contribute to Drupal.org


Key Skills:


  • Minimum of 3 years Drupal/PHP/Symfony web development experience

  • Sufficient knowledge of the Drupal theming system to work alongside our front-end and design teams in building fantastic, cross-browser, multi-device compatible sites

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a senior dev or supervisory role

  • Experience in working in teams, building Web-based Solutions using HTML/JavaScript(jQuery)/CSS/Angular, Web API

  • Excellent leadership and entrepreneurial skills

  • Excellent communication and organisation skills and a positive can-do attitude

  • Experience of integration with external systems

  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing directly with other developers and clients

  • Paying great attention to detail and commitment to quality, from software architecture through to visual style and usability

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
